Position Overview
We are hiring a part-time graphic designer to help our team create meaningful brands and marketing materials for our clients. This position will start on a contract basis with the potential to move into a permanent role on our team based on performance and availability.
This role encompasses traditional design responsibilities and skills with an emphasis on creating high-quality graphics and print pieces. These pieces include logos, brochures, website graphics, infographics, ads, product packaging, social media assets, storefront designs, and custom illustrations... but that's only scratching the surface of all the fun things you may be asked to create.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong knowledge of design principles and can create assets in a timely fashion while maintaining a quality design aesthetic. We are a small team so day-to-day responsibilities could range anywhere from production to concepting a new brand identity.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong understanding of the clients' brand and strategy
- Create original and compelling print and digital designs based on client specifications, intended audience and goals
- Assist in creating marketing collateral such as letterhead, business cards, custom apparel, sales materials, mailers, signage, and more
- Conduct industry and competitor research
- Develop promotional assets for Šek's own marketing purposes
- Execute general design requests as needed
- Manage time efficiently while working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to hit targeted deadlines and scope requirements
- Clearly and proactively communicate your work progress and project status
- Remain educated and current on new design trends and software
Requirements
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
- At least 2 years design experience
- A bachelor's degree in graphic design is preferred
- Ability to meet in-person at the Šek office or digitally on Mondays from 10am to noon
- Strong graphic design sensibilities with super sharp attention to detail
- Understand how to visually tell a story
- Video editing, animation, photography, and WordPress experience is also highly recommended
What's In It For You?
- Money: We offer competitive compensation for your time and talent.
- Collaboration: You'll get to work along side our team, with our client's marketing teams, and be able to share your ideas with good listeners.
- Flexibility: We pride ourselves on ideas and results, not how long you stay in the office after everyone leaves (unless that's how you work best).
- Culture: We are designers first and people notice when they experience something that speaks to them. Our office is calm, bright, welcoming, and we're easy-going Minnesotans, unless you use Comic Sans.
- A Future: Our studio is young and we've really hit our stride. We want to build a team that will grow, learn, and succeed for many years into the future. (That includes more of that $$ thing too.)
