Challenge
Lake Superior Youth Chorus (LSYC) came to us looking for a fresh face, and a whole lot of changes to their yearly program book. This book not only highlights the LSYC staff and each chorus participant, it also houses program and event information and of course — the payer of the bills — ads. Even as the organization varies, the challenge is always a similar theme with program books. Create a solve for how to showcase a lot of information in an engaging and digestible way that allows the piece to be a true promotional piece.
Concept
As Lake Superior Youth Chorus focuses on cultivating an active and inclusive music education community, we wanted to make sure all of those components showed through in the program. While many pieces were standard yearly updates (staff bios, children's photos, etc.), we pushed the way the brand was incorporated throughout the entire piece. The cover contains several graphical elements in addition to the traditional photo of all the chorus performers. We also reimagined how events, the different choirs and LSYC promotion content would be displayed.
Outcome
The final product is a, still very informative program book, but now with a more inviting layout and feel. Check it out for yourself below.
No surprise, but we're big art lovers over here (art of all kinds). So we jump at the change to work with arts organizations in the region. Whether it's creating season or individual show artwork, program books, promotional material or photography, arts organizations will always be some of our favorite projects to work on.
